Reformed Confessions
The Canons of Dort originated from a global assembly of Reformed individuals convened in Dordrecht, Netherlands, during 1618-19. Although the synod addressed various matters, a primary focus was resolving a theological dispute, specifically concerning the reception of Christ's benefits among believers, known as Arminianism. With a polemic intent, the canons express Calvinistic doctrines as a direct response and refutation of Arminian perspectives.
